DETAILS:
This is a Hands On Training workshop geared toward those with little to no American Clay plaster experience. Students will be given two 4ft x 6ft wall board sections for clay application. This is an 8-hour class with a half-hour lunch break. Lunch, coffee and refreshments will be provided. American Clay Product Manuals will be provided. A coupon for 10%OFF American Clay products will be provided upon completion of the class.
1. Students will apply Loma Base coat (with instruction) over previously coated sanded primer wall.
2. Students will apply Porcelina, Loma, & Marittimo topcoat over previously coated LOMA base coat wall.
3. Student will perform compression and burnishing on finish coat of plaster.

*Clay surface finishing
*Instruction & practice
of water use
*Trowel handling & control
*Traditional clay mixing (LOMA, PORCELINA, MARRITTIMO)
*Hybrid clay mixes
*Mud Glue mixing & use
*material clean up and recycling
*How to mix color packs
* How to “Touch- up” finished American clay walls

Students will leave this class with:
* Experience with American clay plaster application (48 sq ft.)
* the expertise to apply American Clay in their own homes
* having American Clay as an added skill to their profession
* the potential to offer clients a truly Eco-Friendly wall finish
* knowledge of the systems of American Clay
* knowledge of the techniques that will help cut material and labor cost
