Description:
This is the BASICS, and will give you the foundation you need to do any project. We will discuss and perform all the steps of an American Clay installation, including mixing clay, priming and preparing walls to receive clay, application of base coat and finish coat and compression/burnishing. All three American Clay finishes (Loma, Porcelina and Marittimo) will be available, in a variety of colors. We will also discuss staging a project and demonstrate how to get perfect corners and edges. Other exciting topics: qualities of the three different finish coat products, to seal or not to seal, costs/pricing, and an introduction to Enjarre one-coat product. In the afternoon we will work on artistic methods and students will have the opportunity to make sample boards.

Clay Play Foundation begins at 9:00 am and runs at least until 4:00 pm. Please bring money for lunch; we will walk to a nearby restaurant.

Materials and use of tools are included. The workshop is “hands-on” so wear work clothes!
