Prerequisite: Clay Play FOUNDATION. Clay Play ARTISTIC is an advanced class that explores artistic methods using American Clay materials. Materials and use of tools are included. This workshop is “hands-on” so wear work clothes!

We will play with color mixing effects, stencils, embedding natural materials (e.g. plants) to create textural effects, other textural methods, and mixing finish coat products to obtain specific looks. How to scale artistic methods and the importance of overall design will be discussed then explored on practice walls. All materials (clays, pigments, textural materials, waxes, etc) will be available and are included in the cost of the workshop. Students will create sample boards (you can make as many as you want) and will have the opportunity to design an artistic project.
