Workshop Instructor: Croft Elsaesser, American Clay founder and CEO

Workshop Description: American Clay Earth Plaster is a beautiful, practical and environmentally friendly alternative to cement, gypsum, acrylic, and lime plasters that will cover most wall surfaces. Because of American Clay’s unique properties, proper training and technical support is critical to successful application. The in-depth training provided by American Clay will enable you to teach contractors and homeowners the necessary techniques, greatly reducing your need to troubleshoot. Each participant will take turns leading the "training" of the workshop while receiving feedback from the instructor as well as other participants.

Successful completion of the Train the Trainer workshop will qualify the participant to be listed as a certified American Clay Teacher on the American Clay Applicator/Artisan website. The instructor will be proficient to teach 1-Day Basic workshops as well as 2- or 3-Day Advanced workshops. An American Clay Teacher certificate and Training Manual are provided with the workshop.

Prerequisites: Hands-on, practical experience with American Clay is a requirement for the workshop. There will be no time allotted for reviewing the basics of application techniques. Participants must have a prior working knowledge of plastering techniques. This workshop focuses on the proper "training" aspect of American Clay, not application.

Refreshments: A light breakfast will be provided including: coffee, tea, donuts, bagels, and fruit.  A full lunch will also be provided daily.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Class sizes are small with a maximum of 8 participants so we encourage you to keep your commitment.
